Gutters are easy to overlook until water begins showing up where it should not. A quick visual check during or after a rain can reveal issues before they lead to larger exterior repairs.

Watch for overflowing water, visible sagging, loose fasteners, peeling paint, staining below the gutters, or water pooling near the foundation. Downspouts should also discharge away from the house without leaking at the connections.
